Mary Elizabeth's life is spiraling out of control. Her twin sister, Babs, was killed in an automobile accident. Her bereaved brother-in-law has decided now is a good time to renew their college romance, and her healthy, domineering mother is demanding that she move back home and slave, ah, make that care for her. What's a woman to do? Get the heck out of Dodge! She jumps on the promotion offered by best friend, Kiesha Morgan, and moves to Refuge, NC. The last thing she wants or needs is a man. She's got enough going on in her life.

Hugh Mosely owns and operates Refuge's only eating establishment. As a favor to Alex Morgan, good friend and alpha of the Raven Pack, he agrees to rent the empty apartment above his diner to Mary Elizabeth and keep an eye on her. Hugh is also a were-bear who's actively searching for a mate, a she-bear he can breed with and continue his nearly extinct species. Despite his nearly overwhelming, instant attraction to Mary Elizabeth, he has no interest in human females.

Unfortunately (or is that fortunately?) for them, the true mate bond doesn't care about personal agendas. Watch as they both get caught up in the Mating Fever and try to fight their way out.

While this book has been out a while I picked it up because I read and enjoyed the first in the series. And the story here was enjoyable as well. That said, this book came close to being a 1 handcuff because as I read it I literally wanted to throw the iTouch in frustration.

I am not an editor and I don't necessarily read a book with that critical of an eye. It's all about the enjoyment of reading and how deeply I get into the story. Occassionally I trip over an editing error or a misspelled word and don't even think twice about it. It happens. Nobody is perfect. But when I start tripping over them left and right and a few turn into dozens it's like nails on a chalkboard and I want to start ripping my hair out in frustration.

That is the problem with this book and I swear I began to wonder if someone accidentally uploaded the unedited copy by mistake. I debated whether to email the publisher and ask that very question. But this book has been out for a very long time and I bought it from one of the LARGE ebookstores where it has sold a lot of copies. Did no one else notice this but me?

I'm going to give you an example of a couple of sentences, although there were so many I lost count early on. Then i'll move on and let it go. I hope. Clearly we've a hit a nerve with me.

ex.

She had to do something get her mind off of the past.

She didn't she'd ever been this close to anyone in her life.

A handful of misses like that in a book I get but much more and i'm asking WTH?

Had all of those editing mistakes not been there I think I would have given the book a solid 4 handcuffs. I had this great picture of Hugh in my mind. Big and yummy. That's a really great image. Mary's family... I wanted to take them out back and teach them a lesson or two and while I wondered why she put up with it sometimes, we all can identify with putting up with far more than we should when it comes to family. I also enjoyed the further glimpses into Shannon and Nikolai and am now very curious to see how their story plays out. Yes, I will probably give it a shot and read the next.

If you like shape-shifter series set in small towns with lots of yummy men and hot sex then I think you'll like this one so long as you can overlook the above.

When Rebecca's boyfriend talks her into vacationing at a mountain lodge with his swing club, she quickly learns she's not cut out for playing musical beds. Now she has nowhere to sleep. Logan, the lodge owner, finds her freezing on the porch. After hauling her inside, he warms her in his own bed, and there the experienced Dom discovers that Rebecca might not be a swinger…but she is definitely a submissive.

Rebecca knows that no one can love her plump, scarred body. To her shock, lodge owner Logan not only disagrees, but ties her up and shows her just how much he enjoys her curves. Under his skilled hands, Rebecca not only loses her inhibitions, but also her heart.

Damaged from the war, Logan considers himself too dangerous to be around the enticing little sub. He sends her away for her own safety, not realizing she believes she has once again been rejected because of her size. As Logan's mountains echo with her voice long after she's gone, he realizes she's taken his heart with her. But when he arrives in the city to reclaim her, Rebecca's phone has been disconnected and her apartment is empty…

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, BDSM theme and content, exhibitionism.

Review:

There were so many things to like about this book i'm not sure where to start. Every single character had issues to overcome from the heroine and her fear of never being good enough because of her larger size to Logan's tormented nightmares he perceived as a danger to anyone around him, I found myself completely hooked in. I have to confess a weakness to the setting as well. A cabin resort in the mountains sounds pretty ideal and as a part of the Loose Id summer getaway line this was a perfect choice.

There were a few moments where I wanted Rebecca to tell off Matt so bad I couldn't stand it but that was quickly forgotten as the relationship between Rebecca and Logan took off into the dark side. Ahh the dark side... The BDSM aspects of this book are strong, accurately portrayed and scorching hot.

I highly recommend Master Of The Mountain by Cherise Sinclair an exciting and emotional journey you wont soon forget!
